In an interview with DRUM, Brenda confirmed that she’s done shooting her scenes already.

“My contract was not renewed. The writers said they don’t know how to take my character forward,” Brenda told DRUM that she’s done shooting her scenes already.

Brenda Mhlongo, who played Rafiki in The Lion King, joined Generations The Legacy in 2016. She played the role of Nandi, Jack Mabaso’s wife (played by Vusi Kunene).

“I was really hurt when they told me that my character was ending. I really loved playing Nandi – we had similarities in our personalities. And I learnt a lot from her and how she solved problems.”

“I would have loved to continue playing the character but there is nothing I can do about it.”

The actress further told DRUM that her character leaves with her new man Mandla (played by Themba Nofemele) to start a new life in Cape Town, away from Jack Mabaso.

According to Channel24, Brenda doesn’t have any acting jobs lined-up. She is busy focusing on her foundation Brenda Mhlongo Worldwide Foundation where she puts a smile on people’s faces.

“While on Generations I put my foundation work on hold but now I’ve gone back to it,” she said.
