Gqom queen Babes Wodumo whose real name is Bongekile Simelane, has opened a case of assault against her boyfriend Mandla “Mampintsha” Maphumulo after a video surfaced online showing her being beaten by him.

According to Eye Witness News, Wodumo has now laid a criminal complaint with the police against her boyfriend Mamphintsha following an assault video which made rounds on social media.
Speaking to the media, family spokesperson Sakhile Langa has confirmed that Babes opened a case and they will be holding a media briefing at 10 am on Tuesday.
“She has opened a case successfully, but we will be giving out more details tomorrow morning.”
Langa says Bongekile is currently at home with loved ones and that they appreciate the support they have been shown by South Africans.
DJ Tira, who is a good friend of Mandla, has also released a statement speaking against violence against women.
