Bonginkosi “Zola” Dlamini pulls out as host for Mzansi Kwaito and House Music Awards

The road to the 3rd annual Mzansi Kwaito and House Music Awards has been one of many trials and tribulations. One of which was the announcement of radio and tv personality, Bonginkosi Dlamini aka Zola as the host on the 24th of November.

Sadly though, the Mzansi Kwaito and House Music Awards would like to announce that Zola has pulled out as our host for the night and we unfortunately have to find his replacement despite paying him his deposit and later having him signing a contract we had already agreed to.

We are disappointed that one of our most loved Kwaito artist has made this decision without informing MKHMA management of the reason behind him having cold feet so close to our main event which will be hosted at the Top Arena in Carnival City but have decided not to take legal action against the Kwaito star as he is one of our own and we as the Mzansi Kwaito and House Music Awards will always support our local artists. “As disappointing as it is, Life goes on. I don’t hold grudges and May the Lord I serve bless him. We are ready for the 24th of November and we will be announcing our host soon” says MKHMA Founder and CEO, Perfecta Khumalo.

Tickets to attend the ceremony that celebrates not only South African musicians but also radio stations and radio personalities that still play Kwaito and House Music, can be bought at all Computicket outlets. The line up on the night include the likes of Busiswa, Trompies, Heavy K, DJ Maphorisa and Mshoza just to name a few.

A special mention goes out to our sponsors and media partners for their continued support. Thank you Sun Carnival City for allowing us to host the awards at Top Arena, 802 Media, Dlala Mapantsula and the Soweto Hotel and Conference Centre for always supporting and being behind MKHMA. Last but not least, thank you to our media partners for being part of our journey in 2018. Without the support of Alex FM, Fresh TV and Eldos FM as our media partners it wouldn’t be possible to expose our upcoming nominees to interviews and teach them how to conduct themselves during these interviews. Thank you to all the media houses, newspapers and radio stations that have supported MKHMA from 2016 up until now and look forward to a long and fruitful partnership with the media in showcasing the future legends of SA music.
