Candice Modiselle leaves YoTV

Presenter and Generations: The Legacy actress Candice Modiselle is leaving YOTV after two years on the show.

Taking to Instagram, Candice Modiselle confirmed the news of leaving YoTV. In her statement, she wrote:

“Just over 2 years ago I received a call that undoubtedly altered my life, the “Congratulations” I had prayed for. On the 22nd of April 2016 I was no longer just a passionate Wits Student in the process of completing her Honours degree, but on that day I was introduced to the world as the latest addition to the YOTV Live Team- a team that lovingly embraced me from the inception. It goes without saying that this alone has been one of the most pivotal experiences of my career, engaging with incredible guests but more importantly, an audience that has shown me an overflowing amount of love from day 1,” – Candice wrote.

Candice Modiselle further explained that certain decisions aren’t easy and leaving YOTV in pursuit for growth, focusing on her acting, radio, her school tours, theatre, motivational talks and lecturing has by far been one of the most difficult things she had to do. She also stated that this is definitely not the last time people will see her presenting their your screens. In fact, it’s only the beginning of a new chapter.

“Words fail me when trying to adequately explain how being a YOTV presenter has not only moulded me as an artist and speaker, but it’s ignited my love for live TV, radio, lecturing and motivational speaking.
I don’t take a single moment on YOTV for granted.

I’m so blessed and beyond grateful. To everyone that’s consistently supported “The Queen of the Good Vibe Tribe” and “The A-Team”, thank you. To my sensational co-presenters, that I now view as my siblings, it’s been an honour to stand and grow beside each of you. I’m so proud of the seasoned talents you’ve all become. I love you. To the production team and crew, my growth would cease to exist if I didn’t have you all bringing out the greatness in me, thank you.”

Candice Modiselle also said she dedicates her experiences and journey to the late great Akhumzi ‘AKZ’ Jezile. It was his “Yes” that made all the difference.

Her last show is on Friday the 1st of June, 15h30 on SABC1.
