The owner of Family Tree Cassper had a flourishing career as an independent artist. The deal will see the group help Cassper with the release and distribution of his upcoming album.

His newest single, Sponono Sam, will also drop this Friday, November 16 and and the album called Sweet & Short will be released on the 1st December at Moses Mabhida Stadium, Durban.

The star also took to social media to announce that his fans have been asking for a kwaito album and he decided to release his first Kwaito inspired offering.

“The kwaito sound has been very influential in My music and for a very long time fans have asked for a full kwaito project. I finally gave in and decided to keep it sweet and short, nice and simple. #SweetAndShort dropping on the 1st of December at Moses Mabhida (sic),” – he tweeted.

Speaking to IOL, Mr Nyovest said that they signed with the group because they decided it was time to grow, they have done enough as an independent label and wanted  to reach a new level.

“I sat with one of my business mentors – this billionaire dude – and initially, I wanted him to invest into my company and he said the whole thing of owning 100% of a company sounds like a great idea, but sometimes you have to build it til it’s worth something and then sell a bit of it. So how I looked at it is I have built Family Tree, and for me to grow, I have to share a percentage of it,” – he told the publication.
