Tbo Touch and Glen Lewis on Touch HD

Touch HD and radio legend Glen Lewis have parted ways barely a year into a partnership that seeks to transform radio.

Touch HD founder and former Metro FM presenter Thabo “Tbo Touch” Molefe confirmed by saying “Yes, he is leaving. Bear in mind we are a year-old company that is in a new space, and I call it digital. In digital, we have to conduct surveys from our listeners.”

Rebecca Malope joins Touch HD

Multi-award-winning South African gospel singer DR Rebecca Malope is set to host her own talk show at online radio station Touch HD.

As part of its new line up, the station announced that the new slot will include The Healing Zone, a new talk show hosted by the African Queen of Gospel Rebecca Malope on Thursdays from 12.30pm to 2pm.

“I am not a prophet but I am a host and a mother and this show will help people deal with issues they were not able to address. This will be a platform for people to talk about their experiences with abuse, drugs, money – it will allow prisoners to share why they found themselves where they are today. We want families to address matters,” Rebecca said.

Malope also says the show will play predominantly South African gospel music, there will be psychologists to help with issues and there will be a pastor at the end of the show to close off proceedings.

Tumi Morake leaves Jacaranda FM

Tumi Morake leaves Jacaranda FM

Comedian and radio personality Tumi Morake has resigned from Jacaranda FM after spending eight months as the co-host of the break-fast show.

“My performance career is taking a new direction and unfortunately radio, with the time and energy it requires at this level, doesn’t fit into those plans. I had a great time and learnt many valuable lessons, yes, even when the pawpaw hit the fan. I wouldn’t change it for the world,” says Tumi Morake.

Tumi leaves the show after the hugely successful Rock’n’Comedy Cruise which combined Martin and Tumi’s off-air passions on an ocean liner.

“This was not an easy decision for me at all. The timing was just not right for this relationship, it is like leaving a lover that you are still in love with. I really hope that fate will bring us together again one day,” says Tumi.
