Thembisa Mdoda, Proverb And Lira Donate School Shoes around Gauteng

Over the past week, Thembisa Mdoda, Proverb And Lira visited schools in and around Alexandra and Soweto as part of the #KrushGoodness campaign by Clover Krush – a brand synonymous with spreading goodness. The aim of the campaign is to equip over 10 000 underprivileged children across the country with brand new school shoes begins as the new school year begins.

The brand, together with the SA Department of Education, conducted research to identify 12 schools across Gauteng, Limpopo, Mpumalanga, KwaZulu Natal and the Western Cape with children who are in desperate need of school shoes.

Over the next few weeks, the 10 000 pairs of school shoes will be distributed to 12 schools that the brand has identified throughout the five provinces. The shoe partner for the campaign is Smart Steps by Novita Shoes. Multi-talented, award-winning actress, singer, presenter, musical director, radio host and MC, Relebogile Mabotja, successfully hosted the 18th Annual National Teaching Awards alongside veteran television anchor Leanne Manas this past Saturday, 17 February 2018 at the Sandton Convention Centre.

The 18th Annual National Teaching Awards which honoured the selfless contributions of the nation’s most dedicated teachers will be broadcasted on SABC 2 in March 2018. Each year the Department of Basic Education recognises and promotes the extraordinary efforts of some of the country’s most dedicated teachers while promoting and saluting excellence in the teaching profession.

Dignitaries in attendance of the awards on Saturday included the likes of Minister of Basic Education, Angie Motshekga; Deputy Minister of Basic Education, Enver Surty; Gauteng Education MEC, Panyaza Lesufi; Minister of Science and Technology, Naledi Pandor; Minister in the Presidency, Jeff Radebe; and MEC Debbie Shaffer just to name a few.

The Celebrities Pick Their Teams In Nail-Biting #TIOT8 Episode

Following a series of Slenda Twists in the new season of Tropika Island of Treasure (TIOT) so far, the most recent episode (episode 3) finally revealed the pairings of celebs and contestants. This comes after the contestants battled it out in extreme challenges which gave the celebrities a glimpse into that they bring to the table. But, to get the contestant they wanted, the celebrities needed to be put to the test in challenges which tested both their physical and puzzle-solving capabilities.

After coming out tops, Brendan Peyper picked Durban-born Lisanne Lazarus as his team mate. In second place, Melinda Bam partnered with former South African swimmer Kelly Gunnell. Nay Maps added some brawn to his team as he picked Rudi Witkowsky after coming in third. Fourth place meant that Sbahle Mpisane added the spicy Nondu Mabizela to her team before Khanya Mkangisa picked Mpande Buthelezi. The final two saw Karabo Mogane pick Lihle Ngubo which meant that the final team consists of Tumi Voster and Mark-Anthony Bingham.

Dancer Zodwa Wabantu scores acting role

Socialite, MC and Dancer Zodwa Wabantu is set to take over TV and cinema screens with new acting roles in the next few months.

Zodwa told TshisaLIVE that she is even moving to Johannesburg to start filming on a new TV series that will be released in the coming months.

Zodwa will play the role of a young daughter who tries to help her sister on the show, which will air on SABC 1.

She recently made a cameo appearance on SABC 1’s Uzalo and she said the new show’s producers made contact with her after they were impressed by the progress she has made in the entertainment industry.

“Most people think that I am just a dancer who holds a Savanna in her hand but they saw something more. They told me they loved the way I was true to myself and I wasn’t trying to be anyone else. They had been looking at my brand and they wanted to make it bigger and better ” she said.
