About the comedians:

The vibrant and immensely talented trailblazer, Angel Campey, brings her brand of observational humour to the stage. Fast-becoming a leading voice in SA comedy, Angel’s comedy has been dubbed as comedy for the discerning young South African is nothing short of hilarious.

Carvin Goldstone’s clean honest comedy has won him audiences all over the country and it’s not hard to see why he is a firm favourite on the stage as he explores politics, family and life as a coloured person in South Africa.

South Africa’s most vocal and politically-opinionated puppet, Chester Missing, accompanied by his faithful sidekick, Conrad Koch, are synonymous for their often outrageous, punch-packing, controversial, funny and frank views on the current South African state of affairs.

Having made a name for himself over the past two decades, Darren Maule’s humour, intelligent banter and storytelling and raucous laughter has made him a household name across Durban, which is why he returns to centre stage as the host of this royal affair.

Known as the ‘King of Indian Comedy’, Muthu Murugan has been wowing audiences for many years. Sharp-tongued and witty, Muthu will bring some Durban flavour to Johannesburg.

Ndumiso Lindi, the gentleman of South African comedy, otherwise known as Roosta, effortlessly blends new-age style with old-school traditions. His deep voice, soul-warming smile, booming laughter, original content and seamless delivery makes for a comedy act that is outstanding and soulfully South African.

As an award-winning comedian, actor, writer and presenter, Riaad Moosa is one of South Africa’s most popular and acclaimed funny men – and he happens to be a qualified medical doctor too. He certainly seems to have the remedy for the nation’s ills – a healthy dose of laughter, straight up – and hold the aspirin.

Schalk Bezuidenhout, the talent as sweet as mother’s milk and with a skop as powerful as brandy, is not your run-of-the-mill comedian. His refreshing approach to comedy explores his conservative upbringing and his current liberal outlook on life.

With a comedy career spanning over 12 years and numerous outstanding credentials under her belt, including author, columnist and TV host, Tumi Morake continues to be a formidable force in the comedy industry. Her edgy and unpredictable brand of comedy has wowed audiences around the globe, in particular with her recent comedy special on Netflix.
