The Celebrities Pick Their Teams In Nail-Biting #TIOT8 Episode

Following a series of Slenda Twists in the new season of Tropika Island of Treasure (TIOT) so far, the most recent episode (episode 3) finally revealed the pairings of celebs and contestants. This comes after the contestants battled it out in extreme challenges which gave the celebrities a glimpse into that they bring to the table. But, to get the contestant they wanted, the celebrities needed to be put to the test in challenges which tested both their physical and puzzle-solving capabilities.

After coming out tops, Brendan Peyper picked Durban-born Lisanne Lazarus as his team mate. In second place, Melinda Bam partnered with former South African swimmer Kelly Gunnell. Nay Maps added some brawn to his team as he picked Rudi Witkowsky after coming in third. Fourth place meant that Sbahle Mpisane added the spicy Nondu Mabizela to her team before Khanya Mkangisa picked Mpande Buthelezi. The final two saw Karabo Mogane pick Lihle Ngubo which meant that the final team consists of Tumi Voster and Mark-Anthony Bingham.

The Grand Finale of Top Model South Africa (TMSA) was hosted on the 17th of February 2018, in the Big Top Arena at Carnival City.

This spectacular event, brought to life by renowned Choreographer and Producer, Willie Venter, wowed thousands of spectators as more than 80 finalists from all over the country competed for this prestigious award. But at the end, it was Melissa Magiera (22) from Cape Town, and Alexander Jenkinson (18) from Cullinan, who walked away with the title of Top Model South Africa!

“Winning Top Model SA is a dream come true for me,” says Melissa, a professional dancer with more than 10 years experience. “Always believe in yourself, no matter what. Hard work and determination will get you what you truly want.”

Winner of The Intern by David Tlale uncrowned

Winner of The Intern by David Tlale, Kuena Moshoeshoe has been uncrowned and her prizes have been given to the runner-up, Keletso Moraba. This comes after Moshoeshoe waited more than three months for her prizes from designer David Tlale and the SABC.

Three weeks ago, the national broadcaster,in an official statement, promised: “the SABC will ensure that the delivery of prizes to the winner will be honoured.”

It came after the fashion designer and the reality show failed to give Kuena Moshoeshoe her prizes as promised by SABC3’s The Intern that ended in October 2017.

Obakeng Ramahali aka DJ Buckz has taken over the reins from Busiswa Gqulu who recently gave birth.

DJ Buckz told SunBuzz he is looking forward to a new chapter in his life as the new presenter of SABC1’s dance competition Stumbo Stomp Amapantsula.

“This is my first presenting job and I’m excited to be on a show I can relate to. I always deliver my best when I’m on set. Being part of the show made me realise that trying something new is not hard. You’ll never know what you’re capable of unless you try to do something new.” – he said.

The 28-year-old dancer and musician said that being on the show will open a lot of doors for him.

He said season 5 is packed with new pantsula dancers who are eager to show their talent and win cash prizes.

This Sunday (4 February at 17:00), M-Net 101 will whizz viewers off to a glitzy set and gleaming dance floor for the first live broadcast of its much anticipated new reality show extravaganza, Dancing with the Stars SA sponsored by LottoStar.

To date, the channel has revealed which 12 celebrities will cha-cha, jive, and tango their way into the hearts of the voting public. But which professional dancers will pair up with these stars to put their best foot forward?
