1. World AIDS Day

World AIDS Day is celebrated on the 1st of December. Is an international day dedicated to raising awareness of the AIDS pandemic caused by the spread of HIV infection and mourning those who have died of the disease.

2. Hanukkah

Hanukkah is a Jewish festival commemorating the recovery of Jerusalem and subsequent rededication of the Second Temple at the beginning of the Maccabean revolt against the Seleucid Empire in the 2nd century BCE. Hanukkah is observed for eight nights and days, starting on the 25th day of Kislev according to the Hebrew calendar, which may occur at any time from late November to late December in the Gregorian calendar.

3. Three Kings Day

Epiphany, also known as Theophany in the east, is a Christian feast day that celebrates the revelation of God incarnate as Jesus Christ. For many Christians in Spain and Latin America, the holiday season officially ends on January 6.

4. St. Lucia Day

Saint Lucy’s Day, also called the Feast of Saint Lucy, is a Christian feast day observed on 13 December.

5. St. Nicholas Day

Saint Nicholas Day, also called the Feast of Saint Nicholas, is observed on 6 December or on 5 December in Western Christian countries, and on 19 December in Eastern Christian countries using the old church Calendar.

6. Yule

Yule or Yuletide is a festival historically observed by the Germanic people. Yule is celebrated on the 25th of December by most Northern Europeans and the 21st of December.

7. Christmas

Christmas is one of the most popular December Holidays Around the World. Christmas is celebrated to remember the birth of Jesus Christ, who Christians believe is the Son of God. It is observed on the 25th December by billions of people around the world.

8. Boxing Day

Boxing Day is a public holiday celebrated on the first day (strictly, the first weekday) after Christmas Day. Boxing Day has now become a public holiday in South Africa, Australia, United Kingdom, New Zealand, Canada, among other countries.

9. Kwanzaa

Kwanzaa is an annual celebration of African-American culture that is held from December 26 to January 1, culminating in a communal feast called Karamu, usually held on the 6th day.

10. New Year’s Eve

New Year’s Eve is the last day of the year, and is celebrated on on 31 December. Billions of people around the world celebrate this day by dancing, drinking and parting as they welcome the new year. It is popular in the December Holidays Around the World list.

11. Ōmisoka

Ōmisoka is a Japanese traditional celebration on the last day of the year. Traditionally, it was held on the final day of the 12th lunar month. Ōmisoka is celebrated on 31 December.
