Desmond Dube joins King Kong cast

South African singer, actor, mime artist and entertainer, Desmond Dube, will join the King Kong cast, as from 2 January.

Desmond Dube is known for his work in The No. 1 Ladies’ Detective Agency, Hotel Rwanda, Friends Indeed, Suburban Bliss and Joburg Blues.

Dube will be playing the central role of Pop, a role previously played by Sne Dladla, and will appear on stage from 2 January.

The award winning actor revealed to John Maytham, Cape Talk’s radio host, that he looked forward to stepping into that role. Pop, is a role previously played by Sne Dladla, who according to Desmond, played it very well.

“Sne Dladla was fantastic and he told the story the way Sne Dladla would tell the story,” he said.

King Kong is a hit production of the popular Cape Town’s Fugard Theatre which is currently playing until 18 February 2018.
