The Distruction Boyz and their mentor, DJ Tira, have released a media statement denying theft allegations. Gqom music duo Thobani “Que” Mgobhozi and Zipho “Goldmax” Mthembu, were accused of stealing their hit son “Omunye” from a fellow gqom producer, DJ Lag.
DJ Lag initially accused the duo in February 2018 of stealing his sound for their hit track Omunye.
In the statement, the group stated that “Omunye” was written and produced over an instrumental recording by DJ Mphyd, who supplied it to them.
