According to briefly.co.za, an insider told Celeb Gossip that unfortunately, Duma Mnqobi is being let go, his contract has not been extended because the show’s writers feel there’s nothing they can do with his character. It’s really sad because he loves his job and gets on well with his co-stars, but this is showbiz. There are no guarantees.

Head of public relations at Generations: The Legacy, Gaaratwe Mokhethi, also confirmed that Duma will be leaving the show, but will be on screens until the end of November.

“Fana will be exiting at the end of his contract. But he’ll be on screen until end of November,” – Gaaratwe said.

The 34-year-old joined Generations: The Legacy in 2016 when his on-screen father, Jack Mabaso played by Vusi Kunene, was reintroduced.

According to Channel24, Duma said he will be pursuing his music career and will focus on the projects he’s been doing with his production company, McObi – McEleli.

Duma further told the publication that they currently have a web series titled The Complex. They are also looking to release a film titled Umuthi but there are lots of projects in the pipeline, including recording his soul album that he’s hoping to release next year.
