According to various sources, Babes Wodumo beat the woman after Wodumo accused her of leaking the video to social media.

A video in question is where Babes is appearing watching news with friends and discussing the assault allegations against her ex-boyfriend Mampintsha whose real name is Mandla Maphumulo.

“They were sitting together with this woman discussing Mampintsha and when the video of that scene was leaked, Babes and her three friends accused this woman of being the one who did it. They then invited her to the guest house in Umbilo and beat her up. But the woman wanted justice and went to open a case of assault at Umbilo police station,” the source said they accused the woman of taking videos and posts them on social media to drag Babes’ name.

“We can confirm that a case of common assault was opened at the Umbilo Police Station yesterday evening. The complainant alleges that on Monday evening she attended a gathering at a guest house in the Umbilo area when she was assaulted by four women, three of whom are known to her, after she got into an argument with one of them. Detectives have been in touch with the accused who cannot be named at this stage.

The suspects have indicated through their lawyers that they will be providing police with statements. Statements have yet to be obtained from independent witnesses who attended the event. Once all the evidence has been gathered the docket will be submitted to the NPA,” KZN police spokesman Brigadier Jay Naicker said in a statement on Wednesday.
