Gebroke Harte will add some addictive daytime drama to the KuierTyd line-up every weekday at 7PM. The gripping Turkish telenovela has been dubbed into Afrikaans by some of South Africa’s leading actors and is the first international drama series to be dubbed into Afrikaans in 20 years. Gebroke Harte centres around the drama that ensues when two women from vastly different backgrounds find their lives intertwined 15 years after their babies were switched at birth.

Gebroke Harte will be followed by a new Afrikaans news bulletin, Nuusdag Om 8. Exclusive to eExtra, Nuusdag Om 8 promises to keep viewers informed, with a round-up of the top stories from around the world. It will have a strong local focus, with regional reports from around the country. Thereafter, fast-paced current affairs show Nuusdag Perspektief will dig a little deeper, providing in-depth analysis and discussions around the day’s topical stories and contentious issues.

Marlon Davids, MD of e.tv channels, believes that KuierTyd is long overdue, “The launch of KuierTyd is particularly exciting for eExtra, which prides itself on giving viewers more of the television content they want and love. We have spent a lot of time crafting the KuierTyd line up to ensure that the offering informs and entertains our Afrikaans-speaking viewers and are confident that it will become appointment viewing in homes around the country.”

eExtra is available on Openview (Channel 105) and DStv (Channel 195).
