eVOD is a streaming video-on-demand service launched by eMedia in partnership with MTN South Africa. The eVOD (e video-on-demand) gives you access to loads of series, TV drama, movies and sport, on demand. There is over 1500 hours of free content on the platform. Programmes play with limited commercial breaks on the platform if you haven’t subscribed yet. In this article, we discuss what is eVOD and How Does it Work in South Africa.

eVOD is a streaming video-on-demand service owned by eMedia. The platform allows people to create an account and start streaming local & international movies, series, new original productions, documentaries and TV drama using data or WI-FI.

Some of the local shows that you can watch on eVOD South Africa includes Scandal, Imbewu, Durban Gen, House of Zwide, Selected Afrikaans dubbed Turkish dramas and local reality shows.

eVOD joins and competes with a crowded space of VOD services available in South Africa including MultiChoice’s Showmax, Netflix, Apple TV+, Acorn, Vodacom’s Video Play, Amazon Prime Video, Telkom ONE, VIU and a few smaller services.

How Does eVOD Work?

eVOD streaming service is accessible on internet-connected devices like laptops, PCs, smart TVs and smartphones. eVOD’s month-to-month subscription fee starts from R5 per day to R15 per week and R29.99 per month. These subscription fees give eVOD subscribers unlimited access to the entire eVOD entertainment catalogue.

How Can I Use eVOD for Free?

There is over 1500 hours of free content on the platform. Programmes will play with limited commercial breaks. All you need to do is sign up for eVOD, fill in your payment details and enjoy streaming content. MTN customers who register for eVOD, are allocated 4GB of data for free every month up until the 31st of January 2022 to enjoy content. This data allocation can only be used for eVOD.

How Much Does eVOD Cost Per Month?

Prices on eVOD start from R5 per day, then R15 per week and R29.99 per month.

How to Sign up for eVOD?

Here’s how easy it is to sign up for eVOD.

  • Step 1: Go to www.evod.co.za
  • Step 2: Click on ‘create account’
  • Step 3: Enter your phone number
  • Step 4: Then click on ‘get OTP)
  • Step 5: Enter OTP and then click ‘sign in’
  • Step 6: Once logged in, click on either ‘watch for free or upgrade to premium’
  • Step 7: Start watching

Once you’ve signed up to eVOD streaming service, you’ll be able to download the eVOD app for Android and iOS phones and for smart TVs.

  • Step 1: Go to Google Play or App Store
  • Step 2: Search for ‘eVOD’
  • Step 3: Then click ‘install’ to download and install the app
  • Step 4: Once installed, open the app
  • Step 5: Click ‘sign in’ and start streaming

      Hi, after you’ve downloaded the app, click Login, enter your number and you will receive an One-Time-PIN (OTP). Enter it and login.
