What is Bolt?

Bolt (Formally known as Taxify) offers vehicle for hire, micromobility, and food delivery services. Bolt was founded in 2013 and is headquartered in Tallinn, Estonia. It operates in over 200 cities in 40 countries in Europe, Africa, Western Asia, North America and Latin America.

To be considered for driving on the platform, you must meet certain requirements.

Requirements To Become a Bold Driver

You can become a Bolt driver in just a few days. To get started with the process, here are the requirements you need to become a driver:

  • A valid driver’s license
  • Motor Vehicle License Disc with Operating Card (Double disc)
  • Have a vehicle or vehicle details and contact details of a partner on the platform with a car
  • A professional driving permit (PrDP) service provider card
  • A vehicle year model 2013 and above, 4 doors, luggage capacity 350L, AC
  • Vehicle Inspection report TRA
  • Vehicle Certificate of Registration
  • Clean criminal record
  • Smartphone (Android device Operating System (OS) 6 & Apple iOS 8 and newer)
  • Proof of insurance

Bolt Registration Process

During the signup process, you will be able to add your vehicle documents online. The registration usually takes about 5 minutes. After the registration, you will receive an email with all the necessary information about the upcoming training.

Bolt driver training is done remotely and can be done anywhere. Drivers are required to pass a quick 10-minute test.

After passing your training, a car check-up by Bolt team members for vehicles built before 2013 is necessary. This way they can make sure that it meets their vehicle requirements.

It usually takes from 1-3 days to get your account ready so you can start making money with Bolt.

After your Bolt driver registration, you need to go to your App Store or PlayStore and download the Bolt Drive App on your smartphone.

To begin using the Bolt app, log in with your username and password. You will receive your login details directly to your email after your driver application has been approved.

How Do I Get Paid?

There are two ways how the customers pay for a ride on the Bolt platform – in cash or via Bolt in-app payment (Also known as card payments).

A Bolt payment cycle runs from Monday 00:00 to the following Sunday at 23:59.

If you are due to receive a payout, Bolt will send the funds out during the first half of the week. Depending on your bank’s processing time, the funds should take between 1-2 business days to reflect in your account.

Bolt Fees
