Sweet Girl is an upcoming American action thriller film, directed by Brian Andrew Mendoza, from a screenplay by Gregg Hurwitz, Will Staples and Philip Eisner.
Raza Jaffrey (Homeland, The Rhythm Section), Adria Arjona (6 Underground, Triple Frontier, Morbius), Manuel Garcia-Rulfo (6 Underground, From Dusk till Dawn: The Series), Michael Raymond-James (The Finest Hours, Frontier), Justin Bartha (The Hangover, The Good Fight), Brian Howe (Annabelle: Creation), Lex Scott Davis (The First Purge, SuperFly, Quibi’s upcoming The Now), Reggie Lee (Grimm, The Dark Knight Rises), Nelson Franklin (Black-ish, Captain Marvel) and Dominic Fumusa (The Report, Godfather of Harlem) are set to co-star in the Netflix revenge film, Sweet Girl.
The new additions are joining stars Isabela Merced and Jason Momoa in the Neflix film, which is directed by Brian Andrew Mendoza, first-time feature director.
The plot follows a devastated husband (Jason Momoa) vows to bring justice to the people responsible for his wife’s death while protecting the only family he has left, his daughter (Isabela Merced).
Philip Eisner and Gregg Hurwitz wrote the original script with current revisions by Will Staples. The project is being produced by Mendoza and Momoa joined by Brad Peyton and Jeff Fierson of ASAP Entertainment; Pride of Gypsies. The executive producer of Sweet Girl is Martin Kistler.
Peyton and Fierson have a successful track record with Momoa previously producing Frontier for Netflix which Momoa starred in and Executive Produced.
Sweet Girl marks the third feature project in an ongoing partnership between Netflix and ASAP Entertainment. Additional series projects include Frontier and DayBreak with future film projects also in discussion.
