With just a few short weeks until entries close for the upcoming ninth season of Tropika Island Of Treasure, Tropika is encouraging all those who want to jet off to the beautiful island of Curaçao to get their auditions in. If you’re still uncertain on what you should include in your audition, host Katlego Maboe has some tips.

“Show off the best part of your personality. If you’re funny, be funnier! We want to see the best that you can do,” Katlego says. He adds that “We want to see that you will have fun on the island and be entertaining to watch. If you’re submitting an audition video, make your video short and punchy. Try and capture us within the first 15 seconds. No pressure!”
Still unsure if you should enter? Katlego elaborates on what makes the perfect #TIOT9 contestant. “You need to have a very competitive spirit. There’s a shared R1 million at stake and you’re not the only person after that cheque,” he says. “You need to be a team player; to know when to lead and when to follow in order to benefit the team; have a strategic mind; you need to be quick on your feet and be able to make decisions quickly. Being able to receive instructions and to quickly plan the next steps are also vital qualities to have.”
South Africans dreaming of joining Katlego Maboe and celebs Kay Sibiya, Simphiwe Ngema, Bouwer Bosch, Ntando Duma, Siphesihle Vazi and Nadia Japhta in the tropical island paradise of Curaçao need to buy a promotional pack of Tropika and follow the instructions on pack.
