A couple got engaged at KFC and then the whole South Africa rally behind them after a video of their KFC proposal went viral.

Surrounded by KFC staff and red plastic chairs, Hector, bends down on one knee. The crowd around him cheers and claps as he proposes to Nonhlahla at a local KFC branch. The woman (Nonhlahla), who is sitting opposite him, wipes away her tears of joy and accepts the proposal.
The video of the KFC proposal moment was captured and shared on Twitter by a social media user Kateka Malobola. The video has since been viewed more than 1.5 million times on Twitter.
On Thursday, KFC publicly thanked Kateka for capturing the beautiful moment and sharing it with them. KFC then appealed for help finding the couple with the help from two viral hashtags: #KFCProposal and #KFCWedding
“Mzansi please help us find this beautiful couple, re batla ho ba blesser 😊 DM us any leads, there might be a Finger Lickin’ Good surprise in it for you too. Batho ba Vaal re thuseng! We love love (sic),” – KFC tweeted.
With the help from the public, the couple was finally found and KFC tweeted: “South Africa, you guys are amazing! We’ve found the beautiful couple, and looks like we’re having a #StreetwiseWedding y’all 🥳 We’re meeting Bhut’ Hector and his lovely bride Nonhlanhla we’ll keep you posted. #KFCProposal (sic).”
With almost 500 000 tweets about the KFC proposal, South Africans including brands united in their effort to give the newly engaged couple the best wedding ever.
There’s even a spreadsheet to keep track of who is doing what for Mr Kansi and his beautiful wife-to-be. Some brands who got involved are offering money, free transportation, food and drinks for the couple’s wedding.

Zakes Bantwini also offered to perform at the couple’s wedding for free: “I want to offer my performance at the wedding for free… I love love”.
