Khabonina Qubeka’s local film, Dora’s Peace is set to take the US. The actress made the announcement on Twitter that Dora’s Peace will be screened at the Orlando Film Festival in Florida.

“Such amazing news to wake up to ON A FRIDAY!” she chimed. “#DorasPeace officially selected to screen at the @OrlandoFilmFest in #Florida in the US.”

The chilling film tells the story of a Hillbrow sex worked, played by Khabonina. Khabonina Qubeka has the task of protecting a young boy from a life of organised crime. The film, which was actually released in 2015, also stars Ronnie Nyakale, Hlubi Mboya and Israel Makoe.

It features some really intense stunt scenes and flawless cinematography – a sign of how far film has come in this country.
