Letoya Makhene joined Generations: The Legacy in 2014 after it was relaunched. She played the role of Tshidi Phakade, the wife of the notorious gangster Kumkani Phakade aka “Gadaffi” played by Vuyo Dabula.

As reported by Channel24, the producers of the soapie said Tshidi is taking some time away from the small screen to focus on motherhood and explore opportunities in the music industry.

“I have loved every moment on Generations: The Legacy. This is such a bitter sweet moment for me as I have come to love playing Tshidi Phakade. I will miss my colleagues and the friends I have made on the show. This is not goodbye, it’s just, ‘see you later,’ Letoya told Move!

The actress handed her resignation letter two month ago and Generations: The Legacy executive producer Mfundi Mvundla confirmed the report saying: “Letoya Makhene is one of the most talented actresses I have worked with. She is highly professional and dedicated to her craft. We will miss her wit and sense of purpose.”

Latoya will exit the Morula Pictures produced soapie in June 2019.
