SA comedian Nina Hastie has love for tattoos

South African comedian, presenter and MC Nina Hastie is without a doubt one of South Africa’s top female comic and Pretoria’s finest comics.

The 34-year-old smart comedienne has been in the entertainment industry for quite some time now. As stated by on her official website www.ninahastie.co.za, in 1996 the multi-talented comedian made history by being the youngest radio host in the country alongside Matt Suttner. The then thirteen year olds produced and presented Ping Pong on the Radio Ripple.

Nina is also best know for starring on comedy shows such as The Bantu Hour & The Late Nite News and presenting for Trending SA, the late night show on SABC 3 that tackles some of the trending topics in the country.

She has performed at major theatres around the country such as The State Theatre, Wits Theatre and Joburg Theatre.

South African television presenter, Leanne Manas, who is best known as the anchor of the SABC flagship show, Morning Live, has responded to Ntsiki Mazwai’s claims.

According to the poet and activist Ntsiki Mazwai, Leanne Manas is “mediocre” and only holds her current position at SABC because she benefits from white privilege.

Taking to Twitter, Ntsiki attacked the SABC news anchor saying: “Akere you think Leanne Mannas is good cos she is white? Or whatever she is ..but it’s not black. Akere. Nothing as mediocre as Leanne Shem (sic).”

Ntsiki claimed Leanne was occupying a position that belonged to someone who would represent the black majority of South Africa.

“Playing victim will not change the fact that the position you occupy belongs to someone who represents our country of a black majority,” – Mazwai said.

South African actress, television host and artist Khanyi Mbau broke the internet after she recently posted a n*de photo of herself on social media.

The n*de photo is from the Marie Claire Naked Issue’s #DearBody campaign, which features Khanyi Mbau and other local artists including Zodwa Wabantu, Thickleeyonce, Nina Hastie, Lalla Hirayama and Tumi Morake.

According to Marie Claire, the campaign aims to promote body positivity. In the New Naked, they celebrate women as the authors of their own stories. They also celebrate the right of women to make their own decisions about their bodies, which has not always been the case.

“Nakedness is about finding power in vulnerability, transparency and truth,” – Marie Claire stated on their official website.
