News anchor, Lindi Sirame, of Newzroom Afrika and news reporter of Metro FM’s drive time show, ‘The Kings Suite,’ has teamed up with ENCA’s Silindelo Masikane on an Instagram platform which has sparked conversations great for those seeking to get schooled about the media industry.

The “How to get your foot into the Media Industry,” IG live chats have become a weekly sensation every Thursday at 7:30 pm. Through Instagram, Live Chats have included various media industry professionals such as Masa Kekana of Carte Blanche, Shahan Ramkissoon of ETV news and Nontobeko Sibisi just to name a few. Young people who have interest in working in the media industry join the conversations to take advantage of the opportunity, thus allowing them to receive as much information and mentoring as possible because they now have the platform to ask direct questions and get immediate responses.
Sirame’s key aim is to create a motivational space that will serve as inspiration during a time when the COVID 19 pandemic has people feeling discouraged, especially in the creative space. Through the IG chats, Sirame hopes that this will bring an understanding of how the media industry works and serve as a guideline to those who wish to excel in the industry despite the tough times.
Her growth has been gradual with many lessons learnt that she will continue to share on the IG chats with her guests.
