Longwe Twala talks about the night Senzo Meyiwa was killed

Chicco Twala’s son, Longwe Twala has broken his silence on the accusation by Senzo Meyiwa’s father, Sam Meyiwa. Sam said on Metro FM’s The Drive’s show that Longwe was the man behind the trigger that killed former Orlando Pirates goalkeeper.

In an interview with the drive team on Metro FM, Longwe said he was actually the ‘coward’ on the day because he ran out of the house when the robbers came inside Kelly Khumalo’s house.

Twala said the police had interrogated him already and also took his phone to check if he is linked to Senzo’s murder.

“I’m actually saddened that my own people can do this to me, I mean it was a robbery gone wrong. I was even the coward of the day ’cause I actually ran out as those gunmen actually came in and requested phones and money from us. I was actually the first to stand up to try and protect everyone, not realizing that the other guy also had a gun and pointed the gun at me and I actually ran out the door after he pointed the gun in self-defense.

From then I was outside, I wanted to get help but it was late, the neighbours were even sleeping, I didn’t even have my phone ’cause I left it at the house so I couldn’t call the cops.” he said to Masechaba Ndlovu and Mo Flava who host the drive time show.

He denied rumours that the gun used in the shooting was that of Chicco Twala. “I respect my father. Why would I take his gun and mess around with it? The media is making money” – he added.

Longwe Twala added that he was saddened that his own people would do this to him. He further added that as a person he’s actually very scared, he’s not scared he can get arrested for Senzo’s murder because he knows he is innocent.

The 33-year-old also said he was afraid of people who may want to do something to him because of the allegations.

Twala said he did not understand why Kelly Khumalo was not answering to questions.

“I feel that the police need to get their forensic investigation right and stop pointing fingers.”
