Luyanda Mzazi remains silent on her famous dad

Generatiions the Legacy actress Luyanda Mzazi says she is not willing to disclose the identity of her very famous father. Luyanda, who plays Lesedi on the SABC1 soapie shared all of this in a recent interview on DJ Sbu’s digital radio station, Massive Metro.

Luyanda is a fresh face to the limelight and she says she wants to make a name for herself without her father’s already existing fame getting in the way.

“He does a lot of things…he does everything, literally…he actually made me realize I can’t just be an actress,” she said.

The 21-year-old actress says she got her role on Generations the Legacy like any other unknown actress. She found an agency, signed up and went for auditions.

“It was my first audition out of school, I was nervous…I’ve never been on TV before. I flunked it, I went home and I was like I didn’t get it, don’t even worry, I didn’t get it,” Luyanda said.

Luyanda further added that she is her own person and she doesn’t want people to think she got to the industry through connections.

“I’m my own person, so I never wanna get asked about my parents…I literally woke up, sent an email, I’ve looked for an agency on google, like everyone can do. I found one, sent an email and they were like ‘ok cool, come through audition’, I did that audition, they liked me…a week later or two I got an email that Generations is having auditions…”

Although this Luyanda’s first role in mainstream television, she has done a lot of theatre work.

Luyanda Mzazi is originally from Johannesburg and is currently studying towards an HR qualification.
