Mampintsha was arrested on Tuesday morning after Babes Wodumo opened a case of assault against him. Mandla was recorded live on an Insta stories beating Wodumo, whose real name is Bongekile Simelane.

Maphumulo, who appeared in the Pinetown Magistrate’s Court on a charge of assault earlier today, broke his silence outside court, saying he’s a victim of Simelane’s abuse.

“Any intelligent person can see what happened in that video. I’m talking now because I want to save my career. Babes has an alcohol problem and when she is drunk, she is violent, even her family knows that she has been abusive towards me.” – he told journalists.

He also accused Wodumo of staging the attack which was streamed live on the Simelane’s Instagram account. Mandla said she entrapped him via the video by provoking him. The former Big Nuz star said he started out “just tapping” her, saying he did not slap her at first.

According to TshisaLIVE, in an unopposed bail application, Mampintsha was ordered to have no contact directly or indirectly with Simelane.

Mampintsha is expected back in court in May.
