Miss South Africa Adè van Heerden sustained minor injuries after being involved a car accident in Randpark Ridge in Johannesburg.
The Miss South Africa organisation confirmed the incident which took place on Sunday.
Adè van Heerden was driving the Nissan X Trail that she received as part of her prize package when she took over the crown at the end of 2017.
“The Miss South Africa Organization confirms that Adè van Heerden was involved in a car accident on Sunday afternoon. We are relieved to report that despite minor bumps and bruises, Adè is well. We thank everyone for respecting her privacy while she recovers,” – the organisation tweeted.
Ade became Miss SA last year when Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters was crowned Miss Universe.
