MyNsfas is a portal for the National Student Financial Aid Scheme (Nsfas) applicants to login (nsfas login) and access and read latest updates regarding Nsfas. This is a South African government student financial aid scheme which helps undergraduate students who cannot afford to pay for their tertiary education after finishing high-school. Nsfas is funded by the Department of Higher Education and Training (DHET).

The purpose of this article is to show Nsfas applicants how to register for MyNsfas account, nsfas login, check your Nsfas online application status, and how to apply for Nsfas bursary. If you are struggling financially and wish to receive a bursary, you should apply for Nsfas. How to create a MyNSFAS account
To access your Nsfas application process throughย your MyNSFAS account, you are required to register a myNSFAS account by visiting www.nsfas.org.za. Follow the bellow easy steps to create MyNsfas account online.
STEP 1: Visit www.nsfas.org.za website on your browser
STEP 2: Then clickย myNSFAS tab
STEP 3: Click register
STEP 4: Tick the box to allow NSFAS to verify your details
STEP 5: Then capture ID number as it is stated on your ID document
STEP 6: Type in your full names and surname as per your ID document
STEP 7: Type in your current email address
STEP 8: Confirm your email address
STEP 9: Type in your cell phone number
STEP 10: Create a password
STEP 11: Confirm password
STEP 12: Upload ID copy
STEP 13: Click register
STEP 14: One-Time-Pin (OTP) will be sent to the email and cell number provided (this OTP expires after 24 hours)
STEP 15: Type in the OTP and click submit
STEP 16:ย You have now completed your MyNsfas registration process
If you already have MyNsfas account, you can click sign in using your username andย password.
How to log into myNsfas student portal account
Follow the below steps to log into my Nsfas account (mynsfas login):
STEP 1: Go to my.nsfas.org.za
STEP 2: Enter your username and password
STEP 3: Click Sign in
Check the status of your NSFAS application
If you want to check your NSFAS application status, visit the NSFAS website. Click on MyNSFAS account and log into MyNsfas account with your username/email address and the password you created during your application.
Please note that once you have applied for NSFAS bursary, you shouldn’t wait more than a week to have your application acknowledged. You are required to call the Toll Free NSFAS call centre (08000 673 27) if you don’tย receive acknowledgment of your application.
How to update your NSFAS account details
STEP 1: Go to my.nsfas.org.za
STEP 2: Enter your username and password
STEP 3: Click Sign In
STEP 4: Select My Personal Details and enter correct details
STEP 5: Click Update Details
STEP 6: You will receive the OTP via your cell phone number
STEP 7: Enter the OTP and submit on the my.nsfas.org.za website
STEP 8: Then, your NSFAS details will be updated
Alternatively, you can request to manually update your contact details by sending an email to this email address [email protected]. Make sure your send a certified copy of your smart card or an ID book, and an affidavit stating that you would like to update your cell phone number with a new one.
How to reset your MyNsfas account password
If you feel like your account has been compromised or you forgot your MyNsfas account password, you need to follow the below steps to reset your account password:
STEP 1: Visit my.nsfas.org.za
STEP 2: Click the “Forgot your password” tab
STEP 3: Then enter your ID Number
STEP 4: You will receive the OTP to your registered cell phone number and e-mail address
STEP 5:ย Type in the OTP and click “Submit”
STEP 6: NSFAS will ask you to create a new password
STEP 7: Login to your myNSFAS portal account using the new password
