On Wednesday, fans and local celebrities took to Twitter to express their concern for singer Babes Wodumo after a photo showing her mystery weight loss went vial on social media.
Just last month, Mampintsha, whose real name is Mandla Maphumulo, shared a video of himself dancing to one of his latest tracks, but fans were shocked to see his massive weight loss.
In the photo which has been making rounds online on Wednesday, Babes Wodumo (real name Bongekile Simelane) and her record producer boyfriend Mampintsha can be seen together showing Wodumo looking worryingly slim.

Local celebrities including Lorna Maseko and Cassper Nyovest have reached out on Twitter to express their worry.
“My heart really goes out to babes wodumo and whatever is going on in her life. We have a culture of kicking a dog when it’s down and almost celebrating people’s downfalls. I really pray she has people that love her and will carry her out of this mess – honestly!” – Lorna Maseko tweeted

While rapper Cassper Nyovest wrote: “Babes is still an amazing talent. Her personal issues have only ruined her name but not her talent. That, you can never take from her. That girl is and forever will be a superstar. I would still book and pay Babes rate.”
Some Twitter users who are concerned about Babes and Mampintsha’s relationship, have compared the couple to Bobby Brown and Whitney Houston. Some tweeps have started blaming her boyfriend saying that he has “destroyed” her.
Channel24 reached out to West Ink Records as well as Wodumo’s sister Nonduh Simelane to verify the authenticity of the photo, but no comment was available.
