Mzansi Kwaito and House Music Awards 2021 Nominees

Organizers of the Mzansi Kwaito and House Music Awards announced last night, their nominees for the 6th annual music award ceremony, set to take place on the 27th of November, at the Sun City Super Bowl. Due to social distancing regulations, the two hosts announced the nominees from different parts of the country. Ishmael “Skhokho” Mpeoa was broadcasting from Chaf Pozi in Soweto, while Whitney “DJ Lady Dimplez” Molefinyana was hosting from Sun City in Rustenburg.

Legendary Kwaito group, Trompies leads the tally of nominees at the Mzansi Kwaito and House Music Awards. The music group, who recently lost Emmanuel “Mjokes” Matsane, got 4 nominations in the Best Kwaito/House/Gqom Group, Best Kwaito Single, Best Kwaito Song of 2010 – 2015, and the Best Collaboration categories. Jakarumba, who is also a part of Trompies, is nominated in the Best Kwaito Artist category. Notable names nominated in this year’s awards include DJ Cleo and Sun -El Musician in the Best DJ category, Black Motion was pitted against Citizen Deep in the Best House single category, while Bucie and Msaki are competing in the Best House Artist category. Prince Kaybee got a nomination in the Best Collaboration category and the Most Voted Song for his smash hit, Uwrongo. DBN Gogo, who is the daughter of former Minister of Energy, Jeff Radebe, and the only female representative in the Best DJ category, also had her hit song, Khuza Gogo, nomination in the Best Amapiano Song category.
