The 10.6 million people who applied to receive the new round of the SASSA R350 Social Relief of Distress (SRD) grant from 1 April 2022 have not yet received payments for April and May 2022. The delay is due to the decision by the Department of Social Development (DSD) to set a means test for the new phase of the grant. They were finalizing a functional verification process in order to ensure that all systems were in place for the disbursement of the grant.
