According to eNCA an actor who also plays a role on etv’s Scandal has been arrested for a brothel sting. An actor in the popular soapie Scandal has been arrested along with 16 others at a brothel in Springs, east of Johannesburg.
The six men and 11 women aged between 19 and 43 years old have been charged under the Sexual Offences Act.
The arrest follows another bust at a brothel in the same area, where five teenage girls were allegedly held as sex slaves in what appeared to be a barber shop.
The brothel came to the police attention after a woman had escaped from the brothel and agreed to comply with the law in order to bring the suspects to book.
A 42-year-old man was arrested in that case, on charges of human trafficking.
UPDATE:
It has been confirmed that the Scandal! actor caught up in the brothel scandal is 21-year-old Mbulelo Ndlaziwana who plays Scelo Ngema on the show.
Ndaliziwana was arrested with 16 other people on Thursday and appeared in the East Rand court on Friday where he and the other suspects faced charges under the Sexual Offences Act.
The channel has yet to give an official statement but they have promised to “respectfully allow due process to take place.”
Ndalziwana is also yet to publically address the charges as he remains unavailable.
