“Many of our patients come from previously disadvantaged backgrounds and some are admitted without the necessary toiletries. These care packs will put a smile on their faces and help them recover with dignity,” said Mr Msi, Chief Executive Officer of the Cecilia Makiwane Hospital.

Since the start of the pandemic the Shoprite Group has donated thousands of Covid-19 care packages to hospitals in the Eastern Cape, Gauteng, Free State, KwaZulu Natal and the Western Cape.

“Communities are at the core of our business, and the Shoprite Group is committed to giving back to the communities it serves. That is why we are donating care packages to various health facilities in support of those Covid-19 patients who cannot afford to buy essential toiletries,” explains Lunga Schoeman, CSI Manager for the Shoprite Group.
