Simmy’s “Tugela Fairy – Made Of Stars” is a lesson in growth and empowerment. Afro-pop songstress Simmy (real name Simphiwe Nhlangulela) continues to soar to new heights this summer, capitalizing on an epic year despite pandemic-related challenges.
With her second album, Tugela Fairy – Made Of Stars, named that way because of the all-star cast who feature on it, Simmy officially established herself as a household name over 16 tracks that showcase her striking, subtle voice and spine-chilling lyrics.
The jewel in her album crown though is indisputably “Emakhaya” featuring Da Capo and Sun El Musician. The heart-warming video for the Afro-house anthem was #1 on TV for 3 consecutive weeks and resonated with audiences across Africa for its message, rooted in home and identity.
With the release of her new album and over the course of the 2020, Simmy has grown in leaps and bounds, telling her story of strength and empowerment and allowing fans to see a whole new side to her in the process.
