Skhumba imitates Papa Penny

South African comedian, radio presenter and actor Skhumba Hlophe is without a doubt one of the most funniest comedians in Mzansi. Skhumba, who is best known for his role as Bheki Zulu in the SABC1 sitcom Thandeka’s Diary, has decided to imitate Papa Penny.

In a recent Instagram post the comedian is seen wearing a stocking and a ponytail similar to Papa Penny’s signature hairdo. Skhumba can also be seen with the ponytail in an orange outfit while on the set of SABC 1’s Thandeka’s Diary.

Back in 2016 the Kaya FM presenter found himself in hot water when he was seen in a video mocking female Wits University students on the shape of their br**sts saying they were too droopy to be exposed publicly. An online petition was then launched demanding that the station remove the Skhumba from its line-up until he publicly apologised for body-shaming three protesters during #FeesMustFall protest.

Speaking to DRUM, the comedian admitted his humour does sometimes cross the line but says that’s the point.

“What is comedy without risks?” he said. “When you joke that Xhosa men are stingy and Gwede Mantashe has oversized suits and a funny voice, aren’t you crossing the line? If it’s a joke, it will cross the line.”
