Sophie Lichaba sets record straight saying debt woes it’s all lies

Former Generations actress Sophie Lichaba has set the record straight about her drowning in a cesspool of debts.

This comes after Sunday World reported that that First National Bank filed papers at the South Gauteng High Court, two weeks ago, to obtain judgment against her after she failed to service her overdraft facility.

According to the statement which was issued to IOL by Sophie’s publicist, Sophie Lichaba rubbishes the debt woes allegations again, labelling it all “lies”.

“I’m not happy about what the paper was saying about me, it is all lies that are unfounded. I am focusing on my family and work. Making Hashtags a successful uniquely South African Television Show that touches lives in one of my goals at this point. I would like for the media to respect my private life,” read the statement that was seen by IOL.

The statement continued: “Let’s celebrate the amazing talent that she is and how much she has and still is contributing to the industry”.

According to papers seen by Sunday World, Lichaba and her company Sophla Trading, who were cited as the first and second defendants, respectively, obtained a R150,000 overdraft from FNB in 2016. You can read the full story here.
