Stranger Things season 4 release date on Netflix, cast and plot

This is an official Code Red, nerds. Stranger Things Season 4 is headed our way in just a few short months, and this chapter is shaping up to be bigger and bolder than ever before. That’s right: ST4 will be nearly twice the length of Season 3 with two volumes to look forward to. Volume I will make its debut on May 27, with Volume II following just a few weeks later on July 1.

In a letter penned to fans, Matt and Ross Duffer revealed that Season 4 will be the “beginning of the end,” as Stranger Things will conclude with its fifth season.

“There are still many more exciting stories to tell within the world of Stranger Things; new mysteries, new adventures, new unexpected heroes,” the Duffer brothers added in their letter. “But first we hope you stay with us as we finish this tale of a powerful girl named Eleven and her brave friends, of a broken police chief and a ferocious mom, of a small town called Hawkins and an alternate dimension known only as the Upside Down. As always, we are grateful for your patience and support.”

When we last left our Demogorgon-fighting, Mind Flayer–assassinating crew, they were headed in different directions in the aftermath of the Battle of Starcourt. Season 4, Volume I picks up six months later, with the main cast spread out across the world in four extremely different — yet equally mysterious — locations. Between navigating the highs and lows of high school and battling the threat of a terrifying new supernatural force, Mike (Finn Wolfhard), Will (Noah Schnapp), Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown), Dustin (Gaten Matarazzo) and Lucas (Caleb McLaughlin) must figure out how to put an end to the Upside Down — once and for all.
