Quiteria & George, a South African haute couture designer duo in partnership with Manualrossa Apparel produced an attire that was worn by Beyoncé at the Global One Festival South Africa on November 2, 2018.

The dress was an inspiration of the “METAMORPHOSIS” line recently showcased by Quiteria & George at Africa Fashion Week. Quiteria Kekana, co-designer at Quiteria & George says, “We have always made it our mission to one day dress Beyoncé, but we never thought that the day would come so soon. This dress was designed with the purpose to showcase our capabilities and is reflective of all the positive changes taking place.”

George Malelu, co-designer at Quiteria & George adds “Growing up, I never would have imagined that one day I would be part of history making like this. We are extremely proud of our work and that a mega talent was able to it in our lifetime. We are also grateful to the collaboration with Manualrossa, which shows what can be achieved when brands work together ”

Enhle Mbali Maphumulo, Founder at Manualrossa Apparel expressed excitement and gratitude that she was involved in the production process of a gown that drew much of the world’s attention.

“Having recently launched two stores of my design brand for pregnant women in Johannesburg and New York – I am happy that I could collaborate in this historical creation, and represent not only South Africa’s fashion industry, but its talent.”

Global Citizen Festival Honours the life and legacy of Nelson Mandela; presented by Major Partner, the Motsepe Foundation.

Beyoncé, JAY-Z, Cassper Nyovest, D’banj, Ed Sheeran, Eddie Vedder, Femi Kuti, Pharrell Williams & Chris Martin, Sho Madjozi, Tiwa Savage, Usher, Wizkid — these artists and more are convening on 2 December in South Africa with world and corporate leaders to present the biggest campaign on the Global Goals to end extreme poverty ever.

Responding to Nelson Mandela’s call for us to be the generation to end extreme poverty, artists and leaders will be joined by Global Citizens who’ve taken action on the Global Citizen social advocacy platform to earn their free tickets to the festival at FNB Stadium in Johannesburg.

The Mandela 100 Festival, in partnership with the House of Mandela, will serve as the capstone event of Global Citizen’s year-long Be the Generation campaign, inspired by the revered former leader of South Africa and his lifelong dedication to rallying people together to use their collective voices to speak for the most marginalized people.

Global Citizen Festival Mandela 100 hosts include Trevor Noah, Naomi Campbell, Bonang Matheba, Sir Bob Geldof, Gayle King, Tyler Perry, and Forest Whitaker.

Beyoncé and Jay-Z have finally arrived in South Africa for the highly-anticipated Global Citizen Festival SA. Jay Z, his wife Beyonce and their three children were spotted at Lanseria airport on Thursday, November 29.

Several Twitter accounts have shared videos of Queen Bey arriving at Lanseria Airport. In a video, Jay-Z is seen in a black hoodie trying to hide one of the twins, while Bey was trying to hide away in an umbrella.

After a mob of fans spotted them, they screamed their lungs out for them. The Carters were protected by bodyguards and over a dozen South African police officers.

Beyoncé & Jay-Z, Black Coffee, Cassper Nyovest, D’banj, Ed Sheeran, Eddie Vedder, Femi Kuti, Kasey Musgraves, Pharrell Williams & Chris Martin, Sho Madjozi, Tiwa Savage, Usher, and Wizkid will headline the first Global Citizen Festival to be held at FNB Stadium on Sunday, December 2.

Radio and television presenter Anele Mdoda has been added to a list of Global Citizen Festival hosts. The former Real Talk With Anele presenter shared the exciting news on social media with her friends.

Taking to social media saying that she is overjoyed to be added to the prestigious list that will see her favourite artists such as Beyonce perform at the event.

The festival will take place on 2 December at the FNB Stadium and will feature global superstars Beyonce and Jay Z, Chris Martin, Ed Sheeran and Usher. Local stars such as Cassper Nyovest, Sho Majozi and Nigerian stars Tiwa Savage and Wiz Kid will share the stage with them.

Idols SA has announced that Beyoncé’s father and record producer Dr Mathew Knowles, who is currently in the country will guest judge this week’s episode of top 6 finalists of South African Idols.

This Sunday’s theme is ‘Wooden Mic’. Contestants will take on the challenge of performing songs that were butchered in the audition rounds by hopeful, but untalented entrants. Each of the top six will perform two songs.

“We’ve just confirmed him for Sunday and we are excited to have him on the show and can’t wait to have him as a guest on the show. We hope all the show’s viewers will enjoy having him there, as we will also,” Mzansi Magic’s publicity manager Bongiwe Potelwa-Metsing said.

She added: “We are very happy to have him in our show, so he can see the talent that we have here in Mzansi. It’s going to be a historic episode of Idols.”

Trevor Noah to host the Global Citizen Festival Mandela 100

South African-born, superstar comedian Trevor Noah is set to host the Global Citizen Festival: Mandela 100 taking place in Johannesburg.

The event, which will take place on Sunday, 2nd December  in Johannesburg, will be honouring Nelson Mandela’s centennial.

Trevor Noah joins a line-up of co-hosts of the host committee including Naomi Campbell, Bonang Matheba, Sir Bob Geldof, Tyler Perry, Gayle King and Forest Whitaker.

Local celebrities such as K Naomi, Lucas Radebe, Nandi Madida, Pearl Thusi, Somizi and Zakes Bantwini will also join as Global Citizen: Mandela 100 Advocates to support the campaign against extreme poverty.

“It is an honor to be a part of the Global Citizen Festival event celebrating the life and legacy of Nelson Mandela,” Trevor said in a statement.
