Nomsa Buthelezi almost raped

Actress and Our Perfect Wedding presenter Nomsa Buthelezi has opened up about almost being raped in August 2017.

Speaking Drum Magazine, Nomsa told the magazine that the incident occurred in August last year as she was leaving a party in Boksburg.

Nomsa and her friend were attacked just outside the venue by six knife-wielding men who robbed them and then tried to rape them.

“It was the worst day of my life, I thought I was going to die. We were leaving and about to get into the car when these men robbed us of our belongings and tried to rape us. We kicked, screamed and fought,” the OPW presenter told DRUM magazine.

Last month, DJ Warras whose real name is Warrick Stock announced that he will be leaving Live Amp to focus on solidifying other aspects of his brand.

Last night Pearl Thusi, Loot Love and DJ Warras reunited one last time for Warras’ final show on LiveAmp.

Speaking to DRUM Magazine, Warras said he runs two companies full time, so time is not in his favour. In the beginning he could shoot the whole week because it was all he did but not anymore. Whatever show he does now, needs to fit into the schedule that he’s planned in terms of his businesses.

South African kwaito music group Bongo Maffin is back

Bongo Maffin is back

South African Kwaito music group who formed in Cape Town in 1996 is back Bongo Maffin after taking a break from music scene. The group first released their first studio album, The Concerto, in 1998, followed by Bongolution and New Construction.

After 12 years apart, Kwaito group is set to make a historic comeback later this year at the African Creative Revolution.

With an uncategorised fusion of reggae, kwaito, pop, hip- hop, jazz and R&B singalongs Bongo Maffin announced recently that they’ll be working on a new album.

“We will be releasing a full album in September and dropping a single very soon,” said band member Speedy.

Although the group did not give away too much information about their upcoming project, they said they will be partnering with Kalawa Jazmee Records. Kalawa Jazmee Records is an independent record label based in South Africa. The label is reputable as a major contributor to the development of the Kwaito genre of music in South Africa.

Selimathunzi presenter Siphesihle Vazi will make his acting debut on Muvhango this week as the MC at James Motsamai wedding.

Speaking to Drum Magazine, Duku Duku presenter told the magazine that acting has always been part of his plans. He further explained that he wants to be furnished with all the skills needed before fully venturing into the craft.

“I’ve always had the plan to go into acting, but I wanted to study it first. And I’ve been very privileged because when I approached Duma kaNdlovu he agreed to have me at the Duma Ndlovu Actors’ Academy (DNA Academy). DNA Academy conducts its weekly classes at the Joburg Theatre.

“I haven’t been actively auditioning for roles just yet – I want to learn as much as I can first.”

Lasizwe Dambuza’s sister Khanyi Mbau is upset with her little brother for allegedly claiming to have bought house in Sandton.

Speaking to DRUM magazine, Khanyi “I‘m very upset at him for doing that. He lied – the apartment is a rental. He told DJ Fresh he bought it and he went onto the breakfast show to speak about it and it’s not true.”

Mbau also added that it’s not the first time her younger brother lies.

“It’s not the first time he is pulling a stunt like this and we have warned him but he will learn and eventually grow to know you can’t lie about something like this,” Khanyi Mbau added.

Two weeks ago, Lasizwe took to social media where he announced that he bought a new house in Sandton. The YouTube sensation was recently interviewed by Fresh Breakfast Show team on Metro FM where he talked about his road to success and details about his new Sandton house.
