Actress Brenda Mhlongo leaves Generations

Actress Brenda Mhlongo has spoken about her exit from Generations: The Legacy. Brenda, who was one of the lead actors on the show, told DRUM that her contract was not renewed.

In an interview with DRUM, Brenda confirmed that she’s done shooting her scenes already.

“My contract was not renewed. The writers said they don’t know how to take my character forward,” Brenda told DRUM that she’s done shooting her scenes already.

Brenda Mhlongo, who played Rafiki in The Lion King, joined Generations The Legacy in 2016. She played the role of Nandi, Jack Mabaso’s wife (played by Vusi Kunene).

“I was really hurt when they told me that my character was ending. I really loved playing Nandi – we had similarities in our personalities. And I learnt a lot from her and how she solved problems.”

Actress Manaka Ranaka, who is most famous for her role as Lucy Diale the mother of Namhla Diale in the SABC1 soap opera  Generations: The Legacy, is the latest victim of social media killers.

According to the fake Facebook post, Manaka was involved in a fatal car crash in Soweto. The fake post shows Manaka’s car wrecked.

“Breaking news: one of my best actors in Generations The Legacy is gone. RIP Lucy Diale – Car accident in Soweto,” –  the fake post reads.

Clayton Boyd from Generations

Clayton Boyd is currently starring in the hit South African soap opera Generations: The Legacy, one of the country’s most popular series with nearly nine million viewers, which has also been broadcast in countries such as India and Jamaica.

He will also soon be seen in Patrick Garcia’s horror film Hell Trip – which premieres at Comic Con Africa on September 14 in which he stars alongside Jonathan Boynton-Lee, Jay Anstey and American actor Stevel Marc.

Says Boyd about his role in Generations: The Legacy: “I play teacher Robert Carlson. There are things about to happen that will change his life forever. I can’t reveal too much at this stage but the subject matter is explosive and topical.”

Boyd has an impressive resume which includes roles in a host of popular TV series including Isidingo, Binnelanders, The Wild, Thola and MTV’s Shuga as well as the BBC series Leonardo.
