Bonang Matheba is the first ever South African woman to front the STAND-ALONE cover of GQ South Africa

GQ South Africa has unveiled their September cover on Thursday. Television personality and radio host Bonang Matheba is the first ever South African woman to front the stand-alone cover of  GQ South Africa.

The magazine revealed on Instagram that Matheba is the first ever woman to grace the front of the “stand-alone cover.” She covers GQ’s September “The Power Issue”.

“Presenting @bonang_m for #ThePowerIssue this September. The first ever South African woman to front the stand-alone cover of #GQSouthAfrica, @bonang_m discusses the role of power in the year of the woman, divulges her hopes for the future and reveals what you’ll never hear her talk about. #GQxBonang (sic),” GQ captioned a photo of the cover.

The Latest GQ Edition With Kwesta On The Cover

South African rapper Senzo Mfundo Vilakazi, better known by his stage name Kwesta, is the latest celebrity to be featured on the GQ Magazine cover for June 2018.

GQ is an international monthly men’s magazine based in New York City and founded in 1931. The publication focuses on fashion, style, and culture for men, though articles on food, movies, fitness, sex and many more.

The magazine has been recognising some of the influential figures in the hip-hop industry recently. In the past, GQ South Africa has featured other Mzansi stars such as Anatii and Zulu Mkhathini.
