Singer Kelly Khumalo dismisses traditional healer rumours

SAMA (South African Music Awards) Award winner Kelly Khumalo has denied reports that she is undergoing training to become a traditional healer.

This comes after she posted a photo of herself on Instagram wearing a traditional attire. Her Instagram followers started speculating that she might have received the calling, and was in the process of becoming a traditional healer.

According to reports found on TshisaLIVE, Kelly Khumalo’s team have declined to comment on claims that she’s heeded a call from her ancestors and is undergoing training to be a traditional healer.

However, a source told IsiZulu newspaper that Kelly is indeed undergoing training to become a sangoma but did not provide any other details around the decision.

Kelly’s manager Linda Moeketsi was quoted by TshisaLIVE saying: “Kelly would like to keep her personal affairs private.”

In the video clip, the star can be heard saying: “If I am the traditional healer you are believing me to be, I would not be aggravating me if I were you. Because I might just be sending you five lightnings, or 100 bees. Just to sting you to stay out of my business.”

The secret is out, Kyle Deutsch and Kelly Khumalo are not an item, instead, the pair have been cooking up a new love song.

The song, titled Lonely Fool, will put to bed suspicions over the duo’s supposed relationship.

Durban singer Kyle Deutsch said he had been asked countless times about their relationship. “I never respond to rumours. Perhaps people judged our relationship from Instagram photos. We are all about music and Kelly is such a good friend of mine,” said Kyle Deutsch.

According to Independent Online, the new track was released on all digital platforms including iTunes this week.

“The track is produced by Sketchy Bongo. It’s a house, groove, dance and fun song about love. It is easy to write and sing about love because it’s a common topic. Kelly and I shared a unique chemistry from the first time we met,” he said, adding that they met last year at the Sama award nominees party.
