Mo Flava returns on screen with The Remix SA

Metro FM radio personality and Club DJ, Mo Flava, makes his return on screen after three years with SABC 1’s new TV show, The Remix SA.

Previously acknowledged by the Sunday Times Generation Next Awards as one of the Top 10 Most Loved TV Personalities, Mo Flava has been a much-loved face on South African television screens for years. His highly anticipated return on screen comes after his departure on one of SA’s biggest music and entertainment shows, Club 808, which he presented for five years from 2010 – 2015.

“Being part of the process of unearthing talent has always excited me, so agreeing to be a judge on The Remix SA was an obvious yes!” Going back on screen was always part of the plan, but the show needed to make sense. Mo Flava wins first Liberty Radio Award

Metro FM radio personality and Club DJ, Mo Flava, took home the coveted Best Afternoon Drive Show (commercial) award for The Drive on Metro FM, at the prestigious annual Liberty Radio Awards which took place this past Saturday.

This was Mo Flava’s first win at the annual Liberty Radio Awards and is testament to the hard work that Mo Flava has put in over the years to make sure that he is constantly honing his craft to be a better radio presenter every day.

Mo Flava shares this esteemed award with co-host Masechaba Ndlovu and the Metro FM family at large.

“It’s extremely humbling to be acknowledged by the industry for the work I do daily, which doesn’t even feel like work at times. Thank you to my co-host Masechaba Ndlovu for putting up with me and making my job easy. I would also like to thank my on and off air teams that contribute daily to make The Drive show the best afternoon drive show in the country!” expresses Mo Flava.

Major League's Bandile Mbere on Nadia Nakai no-make up photo

Major League’s Bandile Mbere says he was there to support his girlfriend Nadia Nakai who recently received social media hate after her no-make up image went viral.

Speaking to Metro FM‘s Mo Flava and Masechaba Ndlovu, Bandile said “she was very upset. I was trying to be there for her all the time. ( I even) skipped work sometimes to be there by her side. (I told her) things are going to be okay. (You know,) go to movies, take her out, make her forget what is going on on Twitter.”

He said he told her not to worry about the hate because it often came from people who were jealous of her.

“I have been through a time when social media also came and attacked me. I always tell her that she mustn’t worry about what people say, at least she is making money. She’s blowing up. She’s doing very well. Her song is doing very well. The attention is on her and people will try to bring her down. Unfortunately, it will be girls because probably those girls’ men are talking about her.”

Metro FM radio personality and Club DJ, Mo Flava, has given away 12 student bursaries through Boston Media House instead of the initial 10 bursaries indicated. These 12 bursaries were allocated to students interested in studying Radio, TV, Music Production, and Graphic Design amongst other Media Studies related degrees.
