TV personality Pearl Thusi shared a part of her heartfelt birthday speech, dedicated to Basetsana Khumalo on Instagram.

Pearl, who recently celebrated her 30th birthday earlier this month, shared how Basetsana Khumalo helped her, from receiving her first laptop to Bassie helping her bury her grandmother.

In the video, she said “I didn’t have money to go bury my grandmother. I called her and we were supposed to drive down together because she was headed that way and it happened that she was actually going to Newcastle and I was going to Durban. And she bought me and my daughter a flight and hired us a car, so I could lay my grandmother to rest.

Kagiso Lediga is dragged in public over his looks

Kagiso Lediga called ugly

South African stand-up comedian, actor and director Kagiso Lediga is not bothered by women who call him ugly in public.

Speaking on Fresh Breakfast show on Metro FM, Kagiso said he felt comfortable with the way he looked even when some people called him ugly. You can listen to the interview here:

“I have been called ugly a lot by women in public. People would say; ‘that ugly one,” he said. Kagiso further added that he developed a thick skin and the hate did not bother him.

“It’s not a big deal. I don’t have a problem with it. People are surprised how good I look when I arrive in a suit. It doesn’t hurt. It only stings a little when they knock my work.”

Kagiso’s directorial debut, Catching Feelings, opens in local box offices on March 9 and the the film’s producer Tamsin Anderson told news publications that he was excited to see the response from fans.

But at the end, it was Melissa Magiera (22) from Cape Town, and Alexander Jenkinson (18) from Cullinan, who walked away with the title of Top Model South Africa!
