AKA shuts down his own company Beam Group

Rapper AKA has announced that he will be shutting down his own company, Beam Group. He revealed on social media that the reason he’s closing the company is because things didn’t go as he hoped they would.

Taking to social media, the rapper whose real name is Kiernan Forbes, told his fans the reasons he is shutting down the company.

“Unfortunately I also have to announce that Beam Group now no longer represents or manages me in ANY capacity. While I remain the owner of the company, I’m actually in the process of shutting it down,” he tweeted.





AKA added that the business venture is “not working out”.

Speaking to DRUM Magazine, video vixen Nicole Nyaba spilled all of the tea about her relationship with AKA. This comes after months of rumours that and speculation that she and the rapper were dating.

Rumours that AKA and Nicole were dating first surfaced late last year after Sunday Sun reported that they were spotted getting cosy together at an event in Sandton, but they both denied it. However, Nyaba has reportedly confirmed that not only were they dating, but they were also staying together at AKA’s house.

“Kiernan is a nice guy. He is sweet. He opens doors for you, asks if you’re hungry and tells you how beautiful you are when you wake up in the morning. He was an amazing boyfriend. He was constantly making me fall in love with him,” – Nicole said.

AKA to join WWE Live

Rapper AKA is going to be a part of the WWE LIVE South Africa tour.

The WWE LIVE SOUTH AFRICA tour begins at the Grand Arena, GrandWest, Cape Town on Wednesday, April 18, and Thursday, April 19 before debuting at the Sun Arena, Time Square, Pretoria, on Friday, April 20. The tour concludes at the Ticketpro Dome, Johannesburg on Saturday, April 21.

The rapper took to his Instagram account where he said: “Dreams do come true 🙀@wwe 🚨 … #WWELIVE SOUTH AFRICA 🇿🇦 I remember myself & my younger brother with cut out cardboard belts wrestling for the world 🌎championship 😂 … him falling off the bed and hitting his head for some reason or other, my mom shouting at us, telling us to stop!! … now look, I’m part of the show. This is one of the highlights of my LIFE, never mind my career (sic).”

The rapper opened for popular international acts such as 2 Chainz, Rick Ross, Kendrick Lamar, Snoop Dogg and Kanye West on their tours in Mzansi. The rapper inked a multi-album agreement with Sony Music. This deal was made through its new local urban label South African recordings in late 2014. Zakes Bantwini, Sony’s Executive head of A&R, declared this agreement via their platform. Zakes said they are very pleased to add Mr. Forbes’ music career to their portfolio and they are also thrilled about AKA’s growth probability in internationally.

In October 2016, the rapper implicated his record label Vth Season on Twitter of unreasonably remunerating him in  terms of royalties. That year, rumours circulated that the rapper parted ways with the label and urged his former label mates rappers, Big Star Johnson, Yanga Ntshakaza and singer Tresor to each get personal accountants and have the record label’s financial statements checked. The rapper later stated that his problems with Vth Season have been resolved. In an interview with Slikour, he said that the repercussion with his ex-boss had not been good but that they are fixing things between them.
