Idols SA top 3 finalists Thando, Thato and Yanga performed their debut singles for the first time on Sunday night to a much delighted crowd at the State Theatre Pretoria.

Yanga’s single “Scars” hit #1 on itunes within an hour of its release. Today all three Idols singles hit the top 3 spot on the iTunes pop charts.

Yanga at #1 with her single “Scars (All over me)”, Thando at #2 with her single “Wasting Time” and Thato at #3 with his single titled “Blow by Blow.”

Beyonce’s father Dr Mathew Knowles to guest judge on Idols SA this Sunday

Idols SA has announced that Beyoncé’s father and record producer Dr Mathew Knowles, who is currently in the country will guest judge this week’s episode of top 6 finalists of South African Idols.

This Sunday’s theme is ‘Wooden Mic’. Contestants will take on the challenge of performing songs that were butchered in the audition rounds by hopeful, but untalented entrants. Each of the top six will perform two songs.

“We’ve just confirmed him for Sunday and we are excited to have him on the show and can’t wait to have him as a guest on the show. We hope all the show’s viewers will enjoy having him there, as we will also,” Mzansi Magic’s publicity manager Bongiwe Potelwa-Metsing said.

She added: “We are very happy to have him in our show, so he can see the talent that we have here in Mzansi. It’s going to be a historic episode of Idols.”
