To qualify Treffers had to win all three local competitions, that would score him points to the world championships. This included competing at Sun City in April for ‘Battle off the Giants”, which hosts the well-known dance event titled ‘Hip Hop Day,’ where Thabo Treffers came top 4 in his category.

Part of preparation includes mentorship from his manager Craig Bullock, owner of the world-known dance studio, DanceWebSA.

Thabo Treffers says three hours of training every day are the reason he is a world dance champion. “To make finals in the solo battles, I had to dance to different hip hop sub-genres which included, RnB, trap, reggae and old school hip hop,” he explains.

Treffers aims to win even more competitions in 2020 but more than anything he wants to help other hip hop dancers improve in their skills by hosting several dance workshops that will allow him the opportunity to share his world of dance experience.
