Tropika Island Of Treasure Curaçao Announces Celebrity Contestants

South Africa might be in the middle of winter, but one thing that’s sure to turn up the heat is the announcement that Tropika Island of Treasure will officially be back for a 9th season!

#TIOT9 will see six celebrities and six consumer contestants competing for their share of smoooth fame and fortune and a shared R1 million Rand in the island paradise of Curaçao.

Curaçao, a Dutch Caribbean island, feels like a little piece of Europe on the edge of the Caribbean with glorious hidden beaches, amazing onshore snorkeling and diving, and a wild undeveloped windward coast. A picture-perfect place to serve as the backdrop for a smoooth 9th season of the hit show.

In addition to revealing the island for this season, Tropika has also just announced that auditions for #TIOT9 will take place entirely *online – a first in the history of the show, providing an opportunity for more people across South Africa to enter and stand a chance to win a spot on the island.

Anyone who is familiar with the show will know that a big part of what makes it as entertaining as it is, are the celebrities. In #TIOT9, viewers can expect to see the following familiar faces:

South African actress and TV personality Ntando Duma has blossomed since her early days as a kids TV presenter and is best known for her portrayal of Zinzi Dandala on the popular TV show Rhythm City. Today, Ntando is a popular MC, TV presenter and model. She is also an avid music lover and has appeared in music videos for artists like Prince Kaybee, Vusi Nova and has even recorded a single with Babes Wodumo titled ‘Jiva Phez’kombhede’.
