Uzalo actor Sibonile Ngubane says he is nothing like his KHATHAZA character

Actor Sibonile Ngubane says he is nothing like his character Khathaza on SABC1’s Uzalo. Sibonile joined the popular SABC 1 soapie Uzalo in April.

The 47-year-old actor, portrays a rolde of a businessman Khathazamanyeamadoda Khanyile who is the most feared man on television. He is a bitter man driven by vengeance. His role brings along trouble for Uzalo Kingpin Nkunzi played by actor Masoja Msiza.

“On the show, Khathaza wants to make Nkunzi suffer and strip him of what he owns,” he said.

Speaking to Daily Sun, Sibonile said he is a God-fearing member of the Nazareth Baptist Church, known as the Shembe Church. He is nothing like his character on Uzalo.

“Even though I’m a Christian, I had to do my best with my storyline to appear dangerous. I don’t hold grudges and don’t cheat on women. I’m married with four children.” – Sibonile Ngubane he told Daily Sun.

Acting on TV is about playing out stories and his fellow church members supported him. He said his family and neighbours were happy about his achievements on the show.

Sibonile, who was born in eMacambini near Mandeni in KwaZulu-Natal, has been in productions such as Isibaya, Sarafina, Lion of East, Iphi Ntombi and Uselwa.
